6/6: Akechi

[ Whenever Akechi gets up in the morning, even if it's something ridiculously early like 5 in the morning, he'll find Natsuo sitting out in the hall right across from Akechi's shared bedroom, half dozed off but startling awake when he hears a door open.

He yawns into the air, pushing off the ground with his arms rather than relying on his legs, somehow having managed to bang up both legs before the weekend was over. ]

You're awake, finally! I was waiting for you to get up!

[Akechi looks. kind of bewildered? but he doesn't shoo Natsuo away or anything!]

Yes? What is it?

. . . did you wait out here all night?

[randori]

Not all night! I got up 'cause I couldn't sleep, and 'cause I needed to ask you something and I didn't want to forget.

[ So, most of the night.

He brushes his pants off and leans slightly to look behind Akechi at the bedroom door, and then back up at him. ]

You guys are okay? You're keeping him alive? Swear you will!

[doublecrows]

[SLOW. . . BLINKS. . . he just looks bemused now]

Sorry? Keeping who alive? I don't have any problems swearing to that, but--

[who!!]

Your roommate! Eichi said—

[ wait no ]

Did you already get rid of him!? You kicked him out!!?!

[doublecrows]

[. . . . . . . . oh]

Rest assured, I didn't kick Tenshouin out of our room.

Or the bed, although I did make an attempt.

[Eichi is stubborn, Akechi doesn't like bed sharing, why is this his life]

[ who tf is Tenshouin ]

No...! Don't you know, he'll die if he doesn't sleep with you!

[WHO TF IS EICHI]

[and. more slow blinking]

. . . I'm sorry? Where did you hear that?

[randori]

He said so! [ NOT IN THOSE WORDS ] Please! Sleep with him!! I can't take care of him at night, so I'm begging you!

[ He will kowtow on the ground!!!! actually, he'll go ahead and do just that. It sure is five in the morning. ]

To what lows will he stoop to get me to share the bed with him?

[randori]

Whatever it takes!!!

[ muffled screams into the ground ]

[crouches down and just. places a hand on Natsuo's head]

Did he tell you why he'd die if he didn't share a bed with me?

[because SLEEP WITH ME sounds suggestive???]

[randori]

[ Natsuo startles when his head gets patted, and he bolts upright-- hopefully Akechi's nose isn't right there for round two of almost getting smashed in ]

His tapestry did say he was sickly. But that doesn't mean he has to share the bed with me.

I could sleep somewhere else.

[LISTEN, HE DOESN'T LIKE BED SHARING, BUT LIKE, Akechi does not have the power to kick Eichi out of the bed, trust him]

[ No... That's even worse, isn't it? If Akechi isn't even in the room, who's going to be at Eichi's beck and call when he starts coughing or passing out? ]

It's your room too, so you shouldn't have to leave... How come you don't want to? It's a huge bed! Ours was, anyways- isn't yours too? Can I see your bed?

It is a king-sized bed, but-- [PERSONAL SPACE. . .] It isn't anything personal against Tenshouin, I just value my privacy.

[he steps back, gesturing for Natsuo to stand up so he can show him their swanky king-sized bed]

[ Natsuo hops to his feet and trots on inside—-

immediately shuts his eyes ]

It's so white in here! How do you sleep!?

Fairly easily, actually.

[EICHI BED SHARING ASIDE]

Is something wrong with the color white?

[randori]

It's blinding! It's too perfect and too clean! And too easy to get dirty— my room's all red, so even if I bleed everywhere it won't matter!

[ No murdering in your room, Akechi. A pity. ]

[TIME TO MURDER IN NATSUO'S ROOM THEN???]

I would. . . hope that the goal would be to not bleed at all. Please don't do anything reckless like you did the other day, with your kneecap.

[ Murder in Natsuo's room and pin it on him tbh, that's how you play murder games, supposedly. ]

I've been being careful! It's all better now, see?

[ He lifts his knee up and gives his leg a little shake at demonstration. It's the wrong leg. He busted up both legs and can't tell the difference between what hurts and where. ]

[PROTECT NATSUO]

[Akechi remembers small details like that, so he's just going to be. kind of ??? THIS WHOLE CONVERSATION HAS BEEN ???]

Oh. . . and here I thought it was the other leg you had injured.

[randori]

[ ?? ???? oh.

Natsuo switches to the other leg, bringing his knee up and shaking his foot at Akechi's face. ]

I mean- both are fine! I can support my weight on one foot, so it means both are fine!

[ Never mind that it's not a lot of weight to begin with. ]

Natsuo-san. . .

You do realize I'm a detective, right? And deductive reasoning is one of my strengths?

[ Pokes his foot forward to plant his heel on Akechi's sternum and tip him onto the bed. ]
