Natsuo had gotten the tip that Waver can be found here often- he wouldn't know, as much as he stops by sometimes to see what people are reading, he doesn't have that much interest in the books themselves- but he hangs around the library as much as he can, weaving in and out of the rows of shelves to find who he's looking for. ]

[ Is he calling out to him? Trying to keep it a secret? Who even knows. ]

[ waver has been trying to ignore natsuo’s presence, even going as far as trying to get natsuo off his tail, to no avail.

once he realizes this, waver gives himself to his fate. not too happily, though. ]

[ Don't run away?? He's just like Akechi, forcing Natsuo to hunt him down whenever he just wants to have a """friendly""" chat. But for Waver, Natsuo looks ecstatic, having combed through the entire library trying to find somebody who refuses to answer him. ]

[ HELLO????? WAVER IS COMPLETELY SPEECHLESS. IT’S LIKE HE IS DEALING WITH A FIVE YEAR OLD.

with a mix of something between anger, surprise, and shock, he stares at natsuo while trying to find a response. once he finds it, it’s not a happy one. ]

I don’t do magic tricks you idiot! Do you think I’m some kind of circus?!

[ HE'S BEEN DEMOTED FROM THIRD GRADE LMAO...

Being called an idiot just rolls off Natsuo's back, he's too excited about what he's already convinced of, and doesn't listen. ]

Someone said you do magic! Can you use this? Show me!

[ What he pulls out of his pocket is a folded up piece of cloth, torn apart once upon a time but has been since then, crudely sewn back together. ]

or, well, he’s about to, but comes to a stop when he realizes that the cloth is some sort of magical circle. well that changes everything. ]

Hm. Let me see that. [ he’ll set the book down in order to take the magic circle, looking at it carefully. he doesn’t recognize it, but he’s still curious ]

Unfortunately, I am currently unable to do any sort of magecraft— the Crafters took away my ability to use my Magic Circuots. [ a pause ] Where did you get this from? The well?

[ He shakes his head, letting Waver take the circle and maybe if he stares at it hard enough, it'll come to him what it's for? Natsuo looks half hopeful, half disappointed at the fact that Waver doesn't immediately claim it as something he knows about. ]

Not the well. Do you really not know what it is? I was going to ask around all the other people whose tapestries said they could do magic, but I dunno anything about it and wouldn't know how to answer any. ...This really isn't yours?

[ however, waver doesn’t hand it back yet. there’s something about it— as if clouding waver’s mind. maybe it was just hastiness to get natsuo off his back, or stress from these two weeks.

but as soon as that memory clicks, natsuo will see waver turn pale, eyes wide in surprise. waver feels like his chest is . ]

[ He knows this. But it's hard to feel excited when Waver looks like he's about to keep over right here. ]

The library! Here in the library— are you okay? You know this?!

[ waver drags a hand down his face, doing his best to steady his breath and keep himself together. it’s fine, waver velvet. it’s fine.

there’s something more important at hand, anyways. ]

The library, huh? [ he frowns, giving natsuo a tired glance. it’s as if everything is clicking into place in his head. ] You’re one of them, too, aren’t you? A historian.

'cause there's no other way I'd be in the library? [ Like... there's at urge that always draws him here, even if he doesn't want to stay. ] "Too" mean you're one too, right? The last one!
