7/16: Kyouka

[ She'd been having a really tough time, and it's apparent to everybody in the castle since late last week. Natsuo had always been loud and expressive in his grief, but Kyouka... Even he worries a little.

Where is she this week... Natsuo goes around the castle holding something bundled up in plain paper napkins in his hands, hoping she doesn't just stay cooped up in her room all week and will ambush her when she leaves for meals if need be, and holds out the bundle when he spots her. ]

Kyouka! This is for you.

Kyouka's expression actually breaks a little. It falters, and a little light enters her eyes. Color comes to her cheeks. Even if they aren't perfect, they're cute. Her icon is twice as expressive as she's being right now, but that's the gist. ]

Rabbits are my favorite animal.

[ Her hand automatically goes to reach for them but stop before grabbing them, like she doesn't deserve them. ]

They're mine too! [ When she doesn't take them, he presses them into her hands anyways, drawing back quickly so that she'll have no choice but to hold onto them if she doesn't want them to fall. ]

I loved them since I was little, and I used to have a rabbit doll I'd play with all the time too!

[ Abusive family soap dramas!! Those were great times. ]

Kyouka looks at the wagashi like they're precious and holds them close to her chest. There's no way she'd let them fall. ]

I got my first rabbit doll a few weeks ago. From a claw machine.

[ and then it got splattered with her most important person's blood! perhaps less of a great time. ]

I wish instead of a grown-up's lounge, there's an arcade in here instead. I'm super good at the claw machine, and we can play together!

She doesn't even question why Natsuo would have a rabbit doll because who wouldn't want one tbh ]

This week, we should have gotten one instead of nothing. The pattern shouldn't have been broken.

Right? Maybe if we wish hard enough, it'll come on Wednesday... but then it'll disappear at the end of the day, and that would suck too. [ Today's regrets are not having won prizes from the festival however many weeks ago ]

—but if it's a wish, do you think the castle will make an arcade if I wished for it?

Kyouka has a million creepy tiger plushes from that first week in her room. If Natsuo wants one, she can part with one. ]

... I don't think the castle has the outlets for an arcade. It doesn't care about technology.

There's refrigerators and ovens. That's pretty... technological...?

[ Assuming they run off electricity and such, and that there's light bulbs around in the castle instead of everything being lit with torches, because having fire so readily available and easily accessible sounds like a bad idea. ]

If it doesn't work, the well will give my coin back. I can ask for my rabbit instead, and then ours can be friends!

[ That doesn't sound very fairy tale-like. Be careful what you wish for and all that.

Right? I'll make sure to ask for it then! Do you like other animals? Ion and I were wondering if you'd like to go to the zoo [ menagerie ] outside with us!

Tigers are best after rabbits. [ Not to be confused with Tiger.

Kyouka likes most animals, though. They're nice to be around and can't really judge her for her past. ]

[ To be invited out like that... she wonders if she should, but it's not an often occurrence. ]

[ She should've gone with Magnus to Swan Lake instead of him, then they might have saved the rest of the kigu I still have no idea what it's about.

Natsuo looks delighted about Kyouka agreeing, thoroughly excited about it despite not being a huge animal person— Ion and Kyouka are, and that's all that matters here; what he enjoys is company, in the end. ]

I'll ask Ion when a good time is! He says he'll show us cheagles!

[ which may or may not be a dog, but don't ask him what it is ]

[ i don't know either, but she would have gone straight after the kigu, yeah.

Cheagles are good rabbit-like creatures that Kyouka would love, but it's too bad........ everyone else for this zoo outing date is NOW DEAD. Maybe Kyouka would be a little less imbalanced. ]

Are cheagles something from his world....? If it's something he wants to introduce, I'm sure they're gentle.
